Historical records and related data show that the more guns that are in the hands of law-abiding citizens, the lower the gun crime rate and crime rate in general. The states and cities with the strictist gun laws have the highest gun crime! Just think how many lives would have been saved in Virginia if students & faculty had been armed. Just think how many shoppers would be alive today in the Nebraska Mall if those few who saw the disturbed young man pull out the rifle and took him down before he had a chance to get off that first shot. If the teachers had been armed, Columbine would not have happened. Same goes for employee related shootings. Every time a demented shooter kills innocent people, blame the gun-control freaks, blame the education administration, blame the employers, do not blame the lack of gun laws. Currently there are over 300 Federal and State gun control laws on the books plus thousands of local city and county laws. Adding more laws certainly doesn't make any sense even to the uninformed gun-control advocates...however they still try to add to this total that is estimated to be around 20,000 laws!
What choice does a robber make when he chooses to break into a home? The one with an armed resident or the one without any way to protect his family. How many Muggers would try if they weren't sure if the intended victim was armed or not? Law enforcement does not prevent crime...they just investigate afterwards and try to apprehend the criminal.
How many people must die before the folks at the Brady Campaign finally shut up about gun control and disarming all citizens. Britain confiscated guns in 1997 and their GUN crime rate is up 87%. Same for Canada and Australia. Gun crime is up! Hmmm, if those Governments took away all the guns from law-abiding citizens, wonder where the criminals get their guns?
Sorta makes it obvious doesn't it...the Gun Control lobby, headed up by Hillary, Chuck Schumer and Diane Feinstein and supported by ill-informed groups like The Brady Campaign, Gun Control Rights, Coalition to stop gun violence, Million Mom March, Violence Policy Center; all who want to take guns away from law-abiding citizens but do not want to stop the criminals from having them. They all say the individual has no right to protect themselves or their families, that's what the police are for. Yeah, Right!...The average time it takes law enforcement to respond to a 911 call is between 8 and 15 minutes in the U.S. That's IF you have a chance to get to a phone and dial the number. A criminal can do a lot to your family in 8 minutes or 10 minutes or 15 minutes. Some of you will be dead by the time the police arrive and the killer is long gone. You should at least have the opportunity to try to save yourself and your family shouldn't you? These gun-control nuts say you do not have that right...Leave it all to the Police. Dumb, really dumb statements, but the liberal media continues to shove this down our throats.
Death by all forms of homicide, (guns, knives, poison, strangulation, clubs, etc.) is 14th out of the top 15 causes of death, amounting to only .07% of all causes of death in the US. More people commit suicide (1.3%) than are murdered. The biggest cause of death in children under 21 is the automobile, but you don't see groups running around trying to ban the automobile. (However, banning under 21 driving licenses might not be a bad idea).
These same mis-guided people want to ban all manufacture of guns, but never promote the banning of vehicle manufacturing. Kinda silly isn't it to try to ban guns that very well be the difference between life and death when a rapist breaks into a home. Guns that could well prevent mass shooting rampages.
The 2nd Amendment of our Constitution guarantees law-abiding citizens the right to own a gun. Why do you think the framers made it number 2 right after free speech? Because it is that important - that's why.
My advice?....go out today and buy a home protection gun. A shotgun is best for the untrained. Get some training, get a carry permit and keep it handy day and night, especially if you live in cities like: Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, Newark, St Louis, Oakland, Washington DC, Philly or Buffalo.
